Here are the Tools to Begin Your Journey

My Journey’s Beginning forms are the first tools you’ll be using. They are the point from which your journey begins. They are also the first tool you’ll look back on after 30 days to see just how far you’ve come in terms of building a fitter you. To the right are the forms and you can scroll down to see each of them. Download them and familiarize yourself with the documents provided. Then read on for a few things to consider to effectively use your tools.

We all have goals and the purpose of having goals is to get things done. Write down your goals. Be practical and realistic. As you will see in the sample form, I provided you with some goal ideas that may help you get started but be sure to build goals that are personal to you.

The only way to know if you’re getting things done is to track your progress against the goals you set. And that’s just what you’ll do. Whether your goal is to lose weight, body fat, fit into those old jeans or just feel physically fit, it’s important you track your weight and measurements for the next 30 days.

Getting Technical For A Minute...

It is helpful knowing your body fat mass as sometimes you may not lose much weight but you can lose body fat and inches. Here are two ways that you can measure your body fat mass. This is informational and not required for your plan. I share it in the event you want to consider these additional means of measurement.

Getting Started

On the first day of your plan, be sure to weigh yourself, take your measurements and log them in on the form provided. This will enable you to track your progress over the next 30 days. Except for the first day of the plan, I suggest you not weigh yourself daily, but rather weekly. It allows time for you to show some progress. As for body measurements, I recommend you take them at the start of the plan, again after two weeks and once again at the end of 30 days. Also, when you weigh yourself, do it at the same time every day, preferably in the morning before you eat and start your day. When it comes to your measurements, take those first thing in the morning too. Don’t hesitate to have someone help you measure your arms, waist, hips and thighs. It makes it a little easier and they can share in your success as you progress!

Most Importantly - Take Some Selfies!

As everyone often says, a picture is worth a thousand words. So let’s take some selfies! They’ll help establish where you are today and make a great record of where you’ve come from 30 days from now. Don’t be hesitant to take several selfies. At least two, including a selfie of your head and shoulders and a selfie of your whole body. You can add it to the form below, upload it to my Facebook page or keep it on your phone for your own personal reference. Whatever you chose to do with them, know that 30 days from now, if you’ve maintained your commitment throughout the plan, you’ll be happy you took the photos because they’ll help you evaluate the progress you’ve made!
